Hey! I'm Marcus

I made this website to share what I love doing with the community of Penticton, and showcase some of the awesome things that can come from 3D printing.

How it Started

Ever since I was young, I have loved creating - in all sense of the word. From designing and building random gadgets and gizmos, to fixing appliances, building computers and programming, to woodworking and welding, and now advanced mechatronics.

As a kid I used to build lego houses and amusement rides for my sisters Barbies, and one time my mom caught me taking apart our toaster just to see how it worked. As a teen, I started making crazy robots for my Halloween costumes, which has now pretty much developed into a full time hobby.

I started 3D printing when I was 13, using my schools 3D printer. At age 14, I was gifted a broken 3D printer, and was told if I could fix it, I could keep it. It was fixed before dinner, and I had printed something by midnight. Being able to create a real life object from a computer drawing right in my bedroom was a dream come true.

How it's Going

I now design 3D models every day and have multiple printers of my own. Currently, the printers I use are the Prusa Mk3S+ and the Prusa Mk4S+MMU3. These machines are extremely reliable and are really easy to fix if anything ever goes wrong. I love finding and designing new things to print and I am constantly pushing the limits of my printers to discover new techniques.

I've printed everything from replacement gym equipment and shop accessories, to desktop knick-knacks and puzzles, as well as organizational hooks and bins for around the house.

The 3D modelling and printing process has equipped me with adept skills in Fusion 360, PrusaSlicer, Blender, AutoCAD, and Meshmixer. I'm also self taught in Python, and Arduino, and am proficient with Davinci Resolve, Microsoft applications and Google suite.

Some Other Interests

I've honed my modelling and 3D printing skills for years through all of the personal pursuits, school projects, and clubs that I have been a part of. A large part of that was during my time as the Design and Build Team leader of the local Penticton Robotics Team.

Although robotics is my favourite hobbby, I also like playing instruments like piano and trumpet, playing billiards, and longboarding. Since 3D printing often involves hours or even days of printing time, it provides me with opportunities to work on new designs or indulge in other interests.
